The department of English has an illustrious record of being one of the pioneer facilities of the college. Learned teachers with holistic attitude meticulously nurtured the department right from its nascent stage. Prof. Chandrashekaraiah was the first head of the department, under his astute leadership and guidance the department made rapid studies and developed into a full fledged faculty in the college. Himself a creative writer, Prof. chandrashekaraiah groomed the department and gave it a goal and a vision. Over the years the department was fortunate to have the services of many devoted teachers. All these teachers have enriched the department with total commitment to their profession.
