JSS College for Women

JSS College of Arts, Science and Commerce was established in 1967 with B.Sc programme. It was a co-education institution till it was converted into Women’s College in the year 2000. It is a multi faculty, Grant in Aid College, Affiliated to the University of Mysore, Recognized by UGC under 2(F) and 12(B) by the Govt of Karnataka. In the third cycle (2017) NAAC assessment the College has been Re-Accredited “A” Grade with CGPA 3.02, Proposal has been submitted to NIRF for annual grading of College. The College celebrated its Golden Jubilee during the year 2017-18 with all grandeur. Gradually the college started BA, B.Com, BBA and BCA programmes. This led to the expansion of the college building, library, teaching and non teaching staff, physical education, indoor stadium and other infrastructure facilities to cope with the needs of the stakeholders. The college introduced PG programme M.Com in the year 2015-16. 

The college has a spacious eco-friendly campus with ICT enabled classrooms, computerized laboratories, ladies hostel, NSS, Youth Red Cross, Scouts and Guide units besides cultural forum, sports forum, placement cell.

The College is living up to the expectations of the people in and around Chamarajanagar. It is providing quality and value based education. The motto of the college is women empowerment, self reliance and moulding good citizens. Over a period of 53 years, with the blessings of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, constant support of Mahavidyapeetha and dedicated teaching and non teaching staff, the college is thriving year by year.
