LIBRARY AND INFORMATION CENTER 

The college was established in 1967 by its founding his holiness Jagadguru Dr. Shri Shivarathri Rajendra swamiji. The library started functioning in the year 1967. It has a glorious record of 57 years of worthy service to the Education society.

The library is the heart of any academic institution and important role in all academic activities of our institution. Keeping in view the aims and objectives of the college (institution), the library has been planned, developed & is constantly improvised by staff under the guidance of the library council.

The library has adopted an open access system so as to facilitate readers to have easy access to the library resources. The library has also established links with other important libraries at regional level, in order to provide inter –library access for the benefit of students and teachers of the college. To assist the students and research scholars is locating literature as well as information in research, general reference & current awareness, computerized catalogue have been introduced

Access to internet and INFLIBNET has enriched e-resources for the learning process of the students. Separate Reference section, Reprographic facility, additional reference material, books to prepare for professional courses and civil services examinations are available to students.

Creating collaborative learning environments that will adopt to the changing needs of the College, to improve the e-resource access in the campus make use of emerging technologies effectively in the library.

Our aim is to realize this vision by 2025. Our strategy is to develop & adopting innovative programmes in basic and emerging disciplines in a phased manner and to update them periodically so as to keep ourselves on track and on time. Our commitment is to involve 100% of the faculty and students in interactive learning environment both within and outside the college campus through contextual and experiential programmes so that they would be builders of a world wide – network of knowledge – sharing and excels in their performance with a winning edge in the wider context of globalization.

OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) Service

  • The Library provides the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) facility to the users in order to find out the availability of the documents in the library
  • OPAC provides the proper information about the document which they need
  • User can easily trace the availability and location of the document in the Library
  • The necessary guidance / help offer by the staff of the Library to the user to access the document without any troublesome

New Arrivals Display

New books are shelved on the “New Arrivals” shelves for a limited amount of time in order that library users may have a chance to browse new acquisitions. These new books are shelved on the bookcase between the entrance and exit gates.

 

CIRC: CAREER INFORMATION RESOURCE CENTRE

This is one of the resourceful centers for the students who are preparing for various professional and competitive examinations. The center provides the following resources for fulfilling the needs of the students.

Library Rules

  1. Bonafide members of the library are requested to adhere / follow the Rules and Regulations in the interest of the effective Administration and Smooth functioning of the library.
  2. Library Membership is compulsory to all students who are admitted to UG & PG Courses.
  3. Readers are requested to bring their Memberhip ID Card whenever they visit the library.
  4. Members are requested to deposit their belongings at the Library Deposit Counter.
  5. Readers are requested not to bring any valuable / costly materials like Jewels, Money, Mobiles and any other equipment to the library.
  6. All readers are requested to put their signature compulsorily in the attendance register kept at the Security Desk.
  7. Members are not allowed to bring their personnel Books, Journals and any other Electronic equipments inside the library.
  8. Readers are requested to converse in low tone / voice.
  9. Readers are requested to not to fold the pages of any books whilel taking for xerox instead please use flaps for identification.
  10. Please switch off your mobiles whenever you are inside the library.
  11. Please use the dustbin to put any wastage like papers, chocolate covers and any such garbage’s.
  12. Please do not tear the pages of any books instead, please use photocopy facilities.
  13. Please do not misplace / hide the documents and try to maintain the arrangements in order without any disturbance.
  14. Please keep the library environment clean and tidy.
  15. Members are requested to keep the books on the desk itself after their use.
  16. Readers are requested to contact the concerned authority for any guidance and assistance.
